Kenny K Journals

Hello All!
I am here to share my creations for the new challenge over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew.

Our theme this week is:

Anything But a Card

I am super excited to share one of the new Christmas images from Kenny K. Meet Ice Skate Kate; isn't she the cutest thing??? Just perfect to get us started on our Christmas season. I just love that set of hair!
Here is a closeup of Kate; she has been colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and printed on Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock for Alcohol Markers
On the inside I have glued down a 1/4 sheet of this pretty decorated clear sheet. It is just perfect to hold a CD.
I have also made two Journals for a sweet lady from my LSS who recently purchased two at a semi-annual yard sale the SS does. I set up shop selling some of my crafts and also some of my not so loved crafting goodies. I really hope that she likes these:0) So here they are...
Here is a closer view of Brooklyn Babe:0)
Anther closeup of just the image; I have done the ombre hair. Think it looks pretty good:)
 Colored with Copic: Hair-E35,E34, E31, BG70, BG72 / Skin- YR01, E00, E000, R22, R20 Greens-YG67, YG25, G40/ Then I lost track.....sorry. I think the jeans are B97,95,93 and the Blacks N9,7,5/ whites C3, C1.

My Friend

 Hey Ya'll! Janette here again!

Here to share a quick and simple card. I wanted the image to be the focus. This image is one of the new Everyday Mulberry Wood collection. I have stamped it on Ultra Smooth Premium White Card Stock and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers.

Here is a closeup of this super cute pup; I just thought he was perfect to sit in this lovely wild grass.
I would also share a little trick that I use to add a touch of depth to my image mat. I use my die to cut and emboss but then I take it one step further. I like to add some color on my mat by adding color without removing the die.
This gives a nice thin border on top of the embossed.
I love using this especially when the gap between my dies is a bit much for my taste.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Brown Sugar – E2 - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy - 2W – Week 2, Anything Goes
Stampin' For The Weekend - 2W, 1E – Week 1, Anything Goes
Southern Girls - 2W, 1E - (ends Nov-06) Animal crackes
Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown - no glitter - friendship

Also I would like to enter my TIP into Top Tip Tuesday.

Hope you have enjoyed my post today wishing you all a fantastic weekend;

Hugs;

Pink Embossed Top Box

Hello Crafters:0)  Saturday has come around again and that means you get to hear from Me for my Crafter's Companion weekly post!

Today I am here to share a project that does not have any coloring in it ***gasp***; in fact; it doesn't even have an image **double gasp**! I have made this cute little box for a crafty friend. SO Maria if your are seeing this TURN AWAY NOW!! LOL:0) I was hoping to have given it to her before posting but really doubt that will happen. Well at least the goodies inside can be a mystery:0)

I have made this box using The Ultimate Tool to score but the real magic in this box is the beautifully embossed top. I have used one of the new 8x8 embossing folders Regency Damask.

Here is a closer look at my decorated top.
And a bit of slanted view. The lace band has some elastic on it so it can easily get fulled off so that the top can come off and the decorated top can stay in place.
Here is a closer look at the embossed detail. I have sanded down the paper so that the detail can be a bit more noticeable and then I have coated it with Glimmer Glaze for a couple of reasons. 1. To make the paper a bit more sturdy; 2. To make it prettier:0)
Do you like my backdrop? I couldn't find a clear place to take my pictures so I have used my chair:0) I LOVE my chair; not only is it  an awesome print but it is also super comfy!

I would like to enter my box into the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy - Anything Goes
Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Anything But A Card Challenge - Always anything but a card
4 Crafty Chicks - Dry embossing
It's All About the Vintage - Embossing

Hope you liked my creation today; have a wonderful weekend.

Humphrey on Kraft

The weather is changing and the days are getting shorter; I am loving the cooler days.
Cold weather=more snuggle time, scarves, warm blankets and more coffee!

I am so super excited to share today's project that I have made for Crafter's Companion because seriously I had a blast creating it and it is something that I had in mind for quite some time now.

I am sharing a one layer card embossed and colored on kraft. So here it is...
CAUTION: Picture heavy post:0)

Here is a closer look at the image Hello Rudolph from the Humphrey Collection.
Here you can see a little bit better the embossing and what a pretty texture it gives this card. This is the 6x6 Regal Frame.
Here is a little tip for when coloring on kraft. Jot down color on a scrap piece  of your kraft to get a good idea of how your colors will show up.

Here are a few things that I have noticed:
-Coloring on kraft is more forgiving; hence easier to blend and harder to see mistakes= more fun!
-Bright colors look best
- Color will bleed faster, so be sure to not put too much color down
-As the alcohol evaporates(ink dries) the colors will start to look brighter. It is like magic seeing those colors show through!
I got my inspiration for coloring this image from the packaging:0)
 Skin: BGR3, BGR1, Blender
Reds: DR7, DR1, CR10, CR5
Greens: DG3, CG4
Rufolph: TN7, GB8, GB1/ TN8, TN7
*White is Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Marker

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Little Miss Muffet Challenges -  One layer or CAS
Paper Play -Simply cute
Pixie Dust Studio - Full of Fantasy
Addicted to Stamps and More - CAS
Crafts and Me - #105 Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a chance to try coloring on kraft I promise it is FUN!

Hello Friend

Hello All I am back today to share a super simple but cute card that I have made for my post at  Crafter's Companion Information Blog.

I have used  Flora from the recently released Toread Collection. I have also used the gorgeous Die'sire 8x8 embossing folder Regency Damask. These have also been recently added to the CC Store.

Here is a closeup of Flora; doesn't she look as sweet as can be?!?
I have used CC Paper (Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock for Alcohol Markers)
This paper is awesome! It is perfect for my Spectrum Noir Markers. Blends nicely and saves me on the ink. Here is a shot at what the back of my image looks like; I think it is so pretty too:0) You can see that on the skin I have done circle blending and the paper is a lot more saturated as where on the hair I have done feather blending and is less saturated.
Here are the colors used on the image....
And these are the ones used on the background and ground....
Thanks for stopping by; til next Saturday!
