Party Giraffe

Today I would like to share this tri-fold shutter card that I made for my BFF. Her birthday is still a month away but I just had this idea in my head and had to get it done before it fled away. She loves giraffes hence the giraffe theme. The party giraffe is a digi from Crafty Journal, and the paper is from Animal Crackers DCWV Stack. I just love how sparkly it is (unfortunately I was not able to get a good picture of all that sparkle).
Here is a close up of Party Ickle. I used my Copic to color this image and added Stickles to the gift bow, hat, tu-tu and bow.

Colors used:
Body:E31,51 Spots:E25,15 Blush:R20 Tutu:R37,35,32 Party Hat:BG18.15,11Gift Bow:YR07,04,01 Gift Box: B06,04,02 Shadows:C3,2,0 and Colorless Blender.

You can see a great video tutorial for the tri-fold shutter card here.  My measurement are a little bit different but you can get the idea and and many other great tips at the video mentioned above.

Christmas in May

I want to show you a card that I made the other day. I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas card.....yes in May. It was so much fun and I was surprised when I saw that Magnolia Down Under Challenge #97 is Christmas in May....what are the odds? So I will be entering my card in that challenge and if a few other posted below. The stamps are from the Magnolia Christmas 2010 Stamp Club. This is Tilda Wants a Hug, and the snowflakes are also from that collection.
Here is a closeup of Tilda and also my gold cord double bow, I added a little bit of bling with a Glass Crystal Pin that I put together myself.
I colored Tilda with my Copics, added Stickles to the snowflakes and Sparkle Fluff to Tilda's hands and around her feet on the floor. I thought it looked as if it was snowing and she was catching the flakes.
Hope you like my card and thanks for looking.

I am also entering this card into:
Simon Says Challenge: Sparkle and Shine
Truly Scrumptious: Anything Goes

I have CANDY....come check it out here! It is two sets of 32 Pearls & Crystals Handmade Pins by me :)

Blonde Beauty

Okay, so I absolutely love this stamp from Simply Sassy. She is just so adorable. I just want to pinch her sweet little cheeks. For some reason I have been drawn towards purples lately; so to make it stand out even more I have paired it with green. This is a real fresh yellowish green. Don't you just love how these colors complement each other?
Here is the inside of this card, I always have such a hard time doing the inside of cards; but here I did a sentiment and just used some of the design paper from the front of the card. Simple, but it works for me. :)
Here is a close up of my coloring. I felt that Rupunzel just had to have the blonde hair blue eyes look!
Here are the Copic colors I used on my sweet Rupunzel.
If you know me at all, you would know that I love to try new things....Here I have a coil rose flower that I made using a small piece of the same design paper used on the card. You can find tons of tutorials on youtube on how to make this flower; I watched so many that I cannot give credit to only one person. I inked up the edges with Distressed Ink Dusty Concord just so that it had a bit of purple on it. The leaf I also did myself, using a scallop cirle puch I cut a slit one one end and folded it a little on itself to get a bit of dimension. Then I inked it with Shabby Shutters Distressed Ink and used Copic marker G82 to make some suttle vein lines on it. I think it came out very pretty.....just right for this rose. Last I also wanted to add some sparkle to this card with a stick pin with some crystal beads from my jewelry making stash.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
icopic Challeng: #30 Blonde Hair
Simon Says Challenge: Sparkle and Shine
A Spoonfull of Sugar: Challenge 152- Anything goes
Creative Inspirations:Challenge 112 - Lace & Pearls!
Truly Scrumptious: Anything Goes
For the Truly Scrumptious Challenge I am also entering in hopes of getting into the DT!
I have not been in any design teams....yet!

Thanks for stopping by and sorry for such a long post I think I got a bit carried away. :)
Have an awesome day!

Baby Birth Announcements

So I finally was able to finish up my baby birth announcements. It took me a while for a number of reasons. First of all, I have a big family and wanted to get one to as many of them as possible (ended up making 36 and still fell short). Secondly I had to do the sentiment on my computer to make it in Spanish; that was a bit of a task because I'm not very good with computers. I also struggled a bit to add the digi stamp to the baby birth info, and to make it the right size and get it in a good spot. Lastly I got the bright idea to color the image with my Copics; and that took me a lot longer than what I had thought! None the less, I am pleased with the outcome and am glad I was able to do it before he turned one! (He is now past 2 months)

Here is a picture of all of them....I did a variation of blues and also used two different digi stamps. The donkey is a freebie from Meljen's Designs, and the rocking horse I purchased but can't find the site now.
Here is a closer view of the inside of the cards.
I will be entering this project in the Simon Says Challenge: Look what the Stork Brought!
Outlawz Friday Copic/Promarkers Challenge: Color Something Cuddly

Hello...Simply Sassy

Okay so I have been super busy with a little work rush and still working on my baby birth announcements, that I have not had a chance to work on anything else. But I just couldn't resist inking up this Sassy Girl. I just got her in the mail the other day. After seeing them everywhere; I just had to snatch up a few of these Sassy girls for myself!  I just love their big eyes and hair. I like how you can even do an eyeshadow on them......Super CUTE!  Here is the card that I ended up with by following the Sketch for Sugar Bowl #59 Challenge. I will also be entering this card in the Simon Says Challenge: Paper Piecing or Piercing
Here is a close up of my coloring... I really had fun coloring. Her hair took me forever to do but I was happy with the results. I used my Copics and Rose Prisma color pencil for her cheeks. I really like how subtle her blush is, and it is so easy to get this effect with the color pencils.
Here is a pix of the colors that I used.....that's a lot of blues!
