Old St. Nick

I have been quite bad at getting my cards into the challenges that I have made them for. I love using sketches as a starting point and have been trying to use as many different stamps as possible. The following card I have made using the Sugar Bowl sketch with the theme of snow.

So here is my card using Sugar Nellie Old St. Ncik. I have sewn around the edges and also given the edges a stickle border. Papers are MME and the snowflakes are Whimsy.

Here is a closeup of Old St. Nick; Thanks Elaine; I am having loads of fun coloring these images and getting great use of them. (I won him from Elaine's candy) I have given all of the suites fluff some sparkle fluff from Our Craft Lounge. Doesn't really show on the pictures:(
Colored with Copics: Skin-E00,000,0000 R20 Hair/Beard-W2,0 Suit-R59,37,35 Shoes/Belt- T7,5,3 Mittens-G07,YG09,05

Here is a little bit of a sideways view of the snowflake so that you can see how high it really is. Also a peak of the inside and back of the card. Both sentiments are from Paper Makeup Stamps. I have been using the Handmade set on all of my cards; just love it! The sentiment on the inside is also PMS and you can find it as a digi HERE along with other great ones. Oh and remember that the PMS rubber is on 45%off sale while supplies last. Just use CLOSEOUT45 to get your discount.
I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Sugar Bowl- Sketch; Snow/Ice
 Stamp with Fun - Stitching
The Crazy Challenge Stars and/or Snowflakes
 Addicted to StampsChristmas card
 Dream Valley Challenges - Sparkle
Stamptacular Sunday -Anything Christmas

Bad News, Good News, Sale, and a RANT!

Okay so I will start with the Bad News; so to say. Paper Makeup Stamps will no longer be doing their stamps in the beautiful red rubber; or any kind of rubber for a matter of fact. Each time I have worked with a PMS image I will say that I just love it and ALWAYS asked myself how could Katie(the owner) do it to keep her prices so low for such good quality of stamps. Well it turns out she hasn't really been making any profits; more like paying for our stamps.

The GOOD NEWS is that all of the images will now be in Digital form. So don't expect those cuties of images to be gone. So now you will be able to work with PMS in a digi form and how much fun it is to play with them; making them bigger, or smaller, merging...etc. etc..

Now as a consequence of the bad news Katie is having a SALE! You will be able to purchase the rubber at a fraction of the price. Now remember that I said that the prices were already really low; so you can imagine you will be getting awesome quality of rubber for a steal(45% lower!)! Please visit the PMS blog for Katie's post and your discount code HERE.

So if you are still around it is time for my RANT! I am so sad to see that stamp companies like PMS that have amazing customer service are not making ends meet, I mean they have super cute images, great quality, and amazing people behind the scenes. Now for me customer service is a BIG thing; and recently I am getting really turned off by one particular company that has super cute images and HORRIBLE customer service. I am talking about Magnolia. Now I know they have such cute images and I am keen on their stamps as I started my stamping with Magnolia images. But there are a few things that really bug me about Magnolia at the moment.

With the StampClub kit
 1. I was worried that my stamps were very uneven; I mean one side was about 3x the thickness than the other side. Didn't even want to mount it because thought that perhaps my parcel had been defected and I could get it replaced. I tried getting in contact with the company and did not have any luck; tried e-mailing them, to the e-mail that they have on the website, through the blog, even through the TOMIC ladies who have contact with them; but nothing.
2. Next they have one price advertised on the website of  kr399.00= to about $56.86 USD now when the kit was charged the price was 434.00 plus an exchange rate adjustment totaled to $66.57.
3.Last about the kit I feel like they keep the best images off of the kit. I know that I just would have been a lot happier to just pick 3 stamps that I absolutely love and not have the bunch that are cute cuz they are but now I want others that are not on the kit.

As a conclusion I am just upset that such a big company doesn't care about it's customers. The images are cute but I think I will order more from other companies that do care about their customers. If I do order Magnolia I am thinking it will be through a company like Simon Says that does care about the person receiving the stamps.

Now I would like to know if anyone else is bothered or has had issues with Magnolia? Or am I the only person that has been having these issues? Please do share!

Not so GIRLY!

Yesterday was the oh so famous Black Friday and I spent the day home to my crafting and bogging. I must admit that I didn't have a babysitter or else I would of gone to at least one store to get my dose of madness!
Today I would like to share this card that I made for my niece. She is such a sweet girl and I love the way that she is not too girly; yet she still has her touch of girly. She will not wear dresses anymore but is not a total tomboy. So I made this card and tried to make it not so girly. The papers are Marjolaine from BasicGrey; I have layered my panels and given them a bit of a doodle on each one. Also added bling swirls, pearls, a great big bow, and  some buttons with cord.
When I first saw this image from Saturated Canary it immediately reminded me of my niece with those glasses and her big eyes and little smirky face. Her name is Ivy and you can find her HERE. I have colored her with Copics but did not jot down the colors...Sorry : ( Wish I had cuz I am really liking her hair.
The inside has complimentary papers with ribbon band and the doodle lines also.
The ticket sentiment is from Whimsy, stamped on kraft, inked around the edges and with a touch of bling.
I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
SaturatedCanary- Anything Goes
Moving Along With The Times- Ribbons and Bows

I made this card for a very special cousin. He did like the babe that I sent him:0) So meet Star from Kenny K; aint she just so darn sexy? Love it! I kept this card fairly simple since it is for a boy! I have added some canvas material and some satin ribbon with no bow! and That corner Whimsy corner swirlies have been embossed. The ticket sentiment is from also Whimsy. Papers are from DCWV Rockstar Stack; ribbon, star brads, pearls are all from stash:0)
Here is a closer view of Star, I just love the way her hair is flowing and how she is embracing that guitar. Look at that super seductive eye peeking out, love it!

Cowgirl Tri-Fold Shutter Card+ Tutorial

It is once again Tuesday and the best part is that there is a new challenge over at TOP TIP TUESDAY! This week The Challenge - More than 1 fold

To get your inspiration going I have done a tutorial on the Tri-Fold Shutter card. So here it goes:
Start out with
 1 - 6x12 Cardstock
1 - 6x12 double sided designer paper (or two cordinating papers)

Score the cardstock at 2",4",8" and 10"
Then measure 1½ inch from top and bottom and cut from the first score to the last score line.
Next fold mountain valley style.
I like starting in the second score line on the middle panel and folding it mountain style.

The top and bottom panels will get folded mountain style starting on the first score line. It should look like this bottom picture.
Next you cut your DP ¼ inch smaller than each panel.
I like alternating my paper as follows. You will need:

(2)1 ¾ x 5 ¾,   (2) 3 ¾ x 1 ¼,  (2) 1 ¾ x 2 ¾,  (4) 1 ¾ x 1 ¼, (1)  3 ¾ x 2 ¾.
I then inked the edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and glued down the pieces.
This is what it looks like all put together.
Then you will be ready to add a sentiment or image and really make it your own creation.
Here is a bit of a close-up of cowgirl Tilda; aint she just so so cute?!
I have used a die cut I had been hoarding for a long long time!

This is what they look like closed.(Kinda closed)
This is a really easy card to do; once you have done it once then you can really make them in a jiffy!

Here is a closeup of this super adorable image: Ashee from Emerald Faerie. Aint he just so super cute? This is one of the images that I got as a prize on Bearly Mine Challenge blog. That cute little baby onesie charm is a gift from my oh so talented blog friend Maria. Gracias!
Tip: Use a color that is not in your papers to really make the image POP! I have used the red; all my other colors can be found on my papers.
Copics: Mushroom R59,46,35 Hat: E33,31,30 Skin: E11,00,000, R20 Wings: BG72,53,000 Pants:YG95,93,G20 Grass:YG23,21 Outline: G000,0000

I have been SPOTLIGHTED on Simply Sassy!

OMG okay so I have been spotlighted on the Simply Sassy Blog. I will be completely honest and say that I never thought this would happen to me. SO when Autumn asked me if  I would do it; I was so super excited even my husband thought I had gone crazy! You can check out the post HERE...Oh how fun!

Here is what I have made. It is not so much a card even though the base is a tri-fold shutter card. I intend to keep this creation forever as it has very special meaning to me.
I have used three images from Simply Sassy to represent my sisters and I: Strike a Pose, Lost in Music, and Pillow Talk. All colored with copics. This Sassy reminds me of my oldest sister; always so stylish and looking HOT!
This Sassy reminds me of my other sister just a little older than me; always lost in her music.
I have used this last Sassy to represent me; a bit bratty for being the baby and a total sleepy head!
I have added a bunch of flowers, ribbon, and embellishments all over the place plus tiny tangs from PTI to display each of our names. At the end very pleased with the results. I have even added a crochet flower that my Grandma Paula made for me. Making this project that much more special!
I would like to thank Simply Sassy for having me as their spotlight guest. It has been a total pleasure and I am truly honored!

Lastly I would like to enter this project into the following challenge:

Fancy a mug for two?

Wohoo; I am so excited about the PMS being released this month! It is Christmas and my mojo is just flowing like crazy!  If you follow the PMS blog then you know that we have a hop on the 7th of each month and then have a release party where we play games and there is prizes to be won. So I really do encourage anyone who likes the stamps to stop by; even if it is just for a little bit. The gals are really fun and nice too! And we do not BITE! So please come and have some fun with us.  Our release will go live during our release party from 9pm-11pm EST. We hope you'll join us in our FORUM!

If you are hopping along with us today you should have come here from Lisa M awesome blog; if not you can start at the beginning by going to the PMS blog.

Okay so now onto my card for today; humm I am not sure to consider it a card since it really doesn't have a place to write something. But here it is! I am using Pete; he comes with this so super cute sentiment. I will say that from the first time I saw him I knew I just had to have him. Just look at him so so cute with his mug and that great big scarf. I have colored him with my Copics and then added Ritz glitter to give it an all over shimmer. I quite like the look of this frosty guy:0)
I have given  all of my papers a glitter edge; that took some patience, waiting for it to dry! Anyway I really like the look.
My flowers are from WOC and they were a prize won a long time ago!
Here you can take a look at the inside pockets; just perfect to house two packs of the hot chocolate. The package actually says " making Warm Chocolate memories" aint that just perfect! Love it!

Now if you are thinking that you have seen these papers before; you are right. I cannot stop using them; they are from the 12 days of Christmas from MME 6x6 pad. It can really go a long way. I still have over half of the pad left. Gotta use it up some more!

Truffle Basket with PMS Tags.

Yay it is day 2 of the Sneak Peeks for Paper Makeup Stamps; I am super excited about this release because it is just perfect for the holidays! All of the release will be available in both digital and rubber form. I have a bunch of pictures to share so I will keep the chat to a minimum (will try at least!).
I have made 4 of these super bright and fun little baskets that house a baggie full of truffles dusted with cocoa powder. I had never tried truffles like this before; and they are yummy!
Here is a top view; I have placed the baggie inside a doily filled with kraft paper shavings.
Here are closer views of the tags; they were easy to do and I really love how easily you can flip an image over and make it double sided. On one side of the tag I have used Happy Holidays from Me to You! sentiment; and on the other, the To:, From:, and the cute little mistletoe. I have given the berries some sparkle with cinnamon stickles. I know I will be using these tags a whole lot more this year. They are called  "Color It Winter Tags Set" and will be available at PMS on November 7th!

Before I go would like to let remind you that we will be having a party on the 7th. It is a release party(when the stamps go on sale) but you can chat with all of us and Katie(owner of PMS) plus you will have the chance to win some RUBBA! Gotta love that.
